But it’s not all about comfort
There are medical conditions which can arise from long and prolonged motorcycle journeys over a number of years.
Erectile dysfunction and Bladder control:
According to a study published by the National Library of Medicine (US Government site) in March 2023, there is a link between motorcycle riding and erectile dysfunction. The study, which focused on people who ride motorcycles for their occupation, found that the more time someone spends riding, the lower their IIEF-5 score, indicating a higher risk of erectile dysfunction (ED). This increased risk is likely due to prolonged pressure on the pudendal nerve from extended periods of motorcycle use.
The pudendal nerve carries signals from the brain and spinal cord to the penis (as well as the bladder), triggering blood flow and erection as well as controlling sensation in the bladder potentially leading to issues like urgency frequency, or stress incontinence.
Of course, if you don't ride too often, it's unlikley to be a major issue, but it’s always something to consider if you have been riding for a number of years.

I just did a solo charity ride. I did the entire North coast 500 in a day on a 22 year old Honda Varadero 125. I honestly thought the shorts were a bit of a gimmick but I thought it was worth a shot. Glad I did they made such a difference I’m just gutted I didn’t take the two pair offer.

Due to complications from prostrate surgery, I could not get comfortable on any of my three motorcycles. I was feeling too much pressure on my perineum causing some pain and leakage. After a long ride today a did not have any pain or leakage. 👍👍

I have several bikes, and a custom seat on my bagger provided some relief to my pain, but ride time was still limited. Gave these shorts a try. Sizing is key! I ordered Large originally, and didn't ride with them because they felt weird walking around. Replaced them with Medium and I hardly notice the padding. The shorts are very stretchy, so if you're borderline on the sizing, go smaller.
As to riding, these shorts are game-changers! With every bike, short or long rides, the improvement in comfort is incredible. These shorts have literally brought long-distance riding back to me.
I will add that the customer service was outstanding. Very responsive when I requested the size change and followed up throughout. I couldn't be more pleased with my experience.
